PQ ferrite inductor is a passive electronic component precisely wound and encapsulated with PQ-type ferrite as magnetic core and enameled wire or flat wire as winding conductor.

It works based on electromagnetic induction. Leveraging the high permeability of PQ ferrite core, it strengthens electromagnetic induction to realize energy storage, high-frequency choking, filter noise reduction, signal coupling and power transmission. As one of the core basic components, it is widely used in power circuits and high-frequency signal processing systems of electronic devices, especially suitable for high-frequency and high-power-density applications.

It is mainly divided into through-hole type and SMD type, mostly with multi-layer close winding. Flat wire wound PQ ferrite inductors are more applicable for high-power and low-loss scenarios. Core size, coil turns, wire gauge and package type can be customized freely according to actual usage.

Product Features

 

The PQ ferrite inductor features low loss and high efficiency. Its PQ-shaped round center pole reduces winding skin effect and proximity effect. The flat wire offers extremely low DC resistance and even smaller high-frequency losses. When paired with high-frequency, low-loss ferrite materials such as PC95 and PC96, it achieves low core loss under high current and operating frequencies between 100 kHz and 1 MHz, with lower temperature rise compared to conventional cores.

FAQ

 

Q: What causes severe heat generation of PQ ferrite inductors?

A: Excessive core loss. Replace with PC95 or PC96 material to reduce loss.

Overcurrent and insufficient wire diameter. Enlarge wire diameter and reduce coil turns.

Poor heat dissipation. Install cooling fans for improvement.

Magnetic core saturation. Adopt larger-size core or adjust air gap.
