Product Introduction

The arc ignition transformer is a core component of welding and cutting equipment. It is mainly applied to welding power supplies such as TIG welding, plasma welding, MAG welding and manual arc welding. It provides high-frequency and high-voltage pulses at the moment of welding ignition, breaks down air to realize rapid arc striking, and stably establishes the welding arc.

This type of transformer is generally made of ferrite and amorphous materials. It features compact structure and high insulation class, and can withstand instantaneous high-voltage impact. Compatible with AC/DC welding machines, it works in coordination with high-frequency arc ignition boards to achieve optimal arc striking performance.

FAQ

Q: Why is there generally no air gap in the core of an ignition transformer?

A: An air gap in the core is typically used to prevent magnetic saturation and store energy. However, for ignition transformers designed to efficiently and stably generate high voltage for arc ignition, introducing an air gap will lead to reduced efficiency, increased heat generation and unstable output. Therefore, a closed magnetic circuit design without an air gap is adopted as the optimal solution to ensure reliable, efficient and safe operation.
