Product Introduction

Ferrite bead inductor, commonly referred to as a ferrite bead, is a composite component that integrates inductive and resistive characteristics. It is primarily constructed from a ferrite core wound with enameled wire. Its core function is to utilize the high-frequency loss characteristics of the ferrite core to efficiently suppress high-frequency electromagnetic interference in circuits, while also providing weak energy storage, filtering, and current limiting functions. It is an indispensable core component in the electromagnetic compatibility design of electronic equipment. Impedance is a key parameter for evaluating interference suppression capability. Low-frequency ferrite beads focus on impedance values in the frequency range of 100kHz to 10MHz, while high-frequency ferrite beads focus on frequencies above 100MHz. The impedance range varies from a few ohms to several thousand ohms. The rated current ranges from 0.1A to 30A, and the inductance ranges from 0.1μH to 100μH. Ferrite beads are widely used in consumer electronics, communication equipment, automotive electronics, industrial control, power supply equipment, and other fields, and are particularly well-suited for applications such as power input/output filtering, signal line noise suppression, and port EMC protection.

Product Features

The core functions of the ferrite bead inductor are as follows:

• Absorbing high-frequency noise: When connected in series on a power line, it effectively filters out interference in the MHz to GHz frequency range, as commonly seen on computer power cables.

• Controlling EMC and EMI interference: It reduces and suppresses electromagnetic radiation and interference emitted from components to the external environment.

FAQ

Q: Can a ferrite bead be used as a replacement for an inductor?

A: No, it cannot. A ferrite bead has no energy storage capability and cannot be used in circuits that require inductive energy storage. It can only be used for EMI filtering.
